It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Darrell Hearst of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Homer Hearst and Vida Blake Hearst; his wife Billie Ables Hearst; his son Darrell Wayne Hearst; and his siblings, Janet Wright, Hollis Hearst, Daniel Hearst and Dalton Hearst.

He is survived by : his daughters, Tish White (Timmy) and Tami Cordell; his grandchildren, Kaci White, John Thomas White, Ansley Cordell and John Hayes Cordell; and his siblings, Rebetha Sapp of California and Arnold Hearst of Hazlehurst.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ott & Lee Funeral Homes- Brandon (1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042). A graveside service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Quiet Ridge Cemetery (134 E First St, Pickens, MS 39038).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thornhill Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, Mississippi.
