With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Faye Sowell Mashburn (Pelahatchie, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 26, 2026 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parent Willie Green; her husband Jack Mashburn; her granddaughter Leah Cunningham; her mother Mabel Sowell; and her brother Billy Sowell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Monica Edwards (Clyde) and Carmen Cunningham; her granddaughters, Chloe Rowe (Jonathan), Brooke Cunningham, Ella Edwards and Lila Edwards; and her pet Asher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Pelahatchie Baptist Church.
