It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Edward Walters Sr. of Petal, Mississippi, who passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Cecil Walters and Helen B. Walters; and his daughters, Shelly Walters Thompson and Tamara Ables Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Helen Walters; his son Gary Walters, Jr. (Dian); his grandchildren, Avery Walters Ezell (Nick), Aaron Walters (Haylee), Taylor Thompson, Tyler Thompson (Jaylee), Tanner Thompson (Breanna), Kaitlyn Hobson, Carley Corley, Jacob Collins and Eli Patterson; and his sisters, Cathy Ford (Lyn), Polly Sumrall (Jerry), Jerri Verzal and Missy Clemts (Ronnie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
