He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his children, Jeremy Michael Smith (Katrina) of Sweetwater, TN, Amy Elisabeth Smith of Newton, MA and Amanda Jane Howard (Richard) of Groton, MA; his grandchildren, Logan, Lynsey Smith, Knox Gonzalez-Smith, Bleiler, Mac and Zechariah Howard; and his siblings, Donna Benkovsky (Steve) of Eaton Rapids, MI, Linda Pendergrass of Philadelphia, MS and James R. Smith (Phyllis) of Berkley, MI. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
