He was predeceased by : his former life partner Mavis Lowery; his son Allen Lowery; his parents, Oliver Leston and Ruby Weems Lowery; and his siblings, Cornelia Bechtel, David and Carrol Lowery.

He is survived by : his wife Wilma Lowery of Mt. Juliet, TN; his daughters, Brenda Coutch of Yazoo City, MS and Gina Sisson (Greg) of Philadelphia, MS; his grandchildren, Chrissy Ballentine, Matthew Towne (Morgan) and Lindsey Goss; and his daughter-in-law Peggy Lowery. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the McClain-Hays Chapel (1002 E Main St, Philadelphia, MS 39350). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
