He was predeceased by: his former wife Mavis Lowery; his son Allen Lowery; his parents, Oliver Leston and Ruby Weems Lowery; and his siblings, Cornelia Bechtel, David and Carrol Lowery.

He is survived by: his wife Wilma Lowery of Mt. Juliet, TN; his daughters, Brenda Coutch of Yazoo City, MS and Gina Sisson (Greg) of Philadelphia, MS; his grandchildren, Chrissy Ballentine, Matthew Towne (Morgan) and Lindsey Goss; and his daughter-in-law Peggy Lowery. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
