With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruby Lee Garner Whatley of Philadelphia, Mississippi, who passed away on May 31, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hunter Gilbert Garner and Virgie Mae Braswell Garner; her husband John Willie Whatley; and her sons, Johnny and Kenneth Whatley.
She is survived by: her sons, Bernard Whatley (Evelyn) and Philip Whatley; her siblings, Charles Garner (Frances) and Bernice McCain; her grandchildren, Bill Whatley, David Whatley, Sharon Waltman, John Richard Whatley, Virginia Peden, Skyler Whatley and Ashli Whatley; and her great grandchildren, Dylan Waltman, Tyler Waltman, Zoie Peden, Winter Rose Whatley and John Randy Whatley.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sylvarena Baptist Church Cemetery (1119 Old Sylvarena Rd, Wesson, MS 39191).
