It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Long of Philadelphia, Mississippi, who passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lamont Nowell and Audrey Nowell; and her grandson Christopher Lane Bounds. She is survived by: her husband Randy Long of Philadelphia; her daughters, Candy Cumberland (Bobby) of Philadelphia, Sandy Long (Jordan Hancock) of Philadelphia and Bridget Creekmore of Louisville; her grandchildren, Colston, Kaylee, Maddox Cumberland, Mitchell and Joseph Bounds; her great grandchildren, Jade, Bentley and Ensley Bullok; and her sisters, Linda Christian of Louisville and Diane McGee of Louisville. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McClain-Hays Funeral Home (1002 E Main St, Philadelphia, MS 39350). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
