He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Burkes and Bonnie Kate Fondren; and his grandparents, Newton, Minnie Tucker, Joe and Tiny Burkes.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Williamson Burkes; his daughter Carol Burkes (Randall Pugh); his grandsons, Jimmy Estes (Dana) and Tucker Estes (Tracy); his great grandchildren, John Tucker Estes, Emerson Estes, Ellis Estes and Dawson Estes; and his sisters, Janice Burnette (Boyd) and Judy Endsley (late Jerry Endsley). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
