He was predeceased by: his father George Douglas Mitchell; and his aunt Melba Seal. He is survived by: his wife Jennie Mitchell; his children, Sonny Mitchell and Katie Mitchell Smith (Jody); his brother Stan Mitchell (Sheila); his mother Eunice Seal Helmuth; his uncles, William Seal and Huey Seal; his aunt Sarah Jane Seals; his grandchildren, Bailey, Lynden, Laney and Landrie; and his uncle Roger Mitchell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (34 Pine Grove Rd, Picayune, MS 39466).
