He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jefferson Dawsey and Nancy Kizzie Smith Dawsey. He is survived by: his daughter Tiffany Marie Stevens; his grandchildren, Brook Marie Stevens and Ezekiel Matthews Stevens; and his siblings, Herman Dawsey, Harold Dawsey, Hazel Johnson, Helen Spiers, Alice Smith and Lorraine Fischer. He is also survived by numerous nephews, and nieces.
