He was predeceased by : his parents, Arb Knight and Inez Holifield Knight; his brothers, Willard Knight and Baby Knight; and his stepson Chuck Liebel.

He is survived by : his wife Helen Hunter Knight; his son Daniel Tim Knight (Ethel); his sister Linda Smith (Tommy); his nieces, Sheila Swindoll and Teresa Smith; and his nephew Pete Knight. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the West Union Baptist Church (560 W Union Rd, Carriere, MS 39426). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the New Palestine Cemetery (2336 Palestine Rd, Picayune, MS 39466).
