She was predeceased by : her parents, Azo Howard and James Ella Estes Howard; her husband Sanders Shannon; her children, Barbara Shannon Armstrong and Howard Shannon; her siblings, Savannah Smith, Geneva Cannon, Ruby Ella Little, Fleur Mabry, Ellen Clay, Franzetta Howard, Arthur Howard and Norman Howard; her grandparents, Frank, Mariah Howard, James (Pawpaw) and Savannah Carter Estes; her great grandchild Jeremiah Flakes; and her great great grandchild Harper Denton.

She is survived by : her children, Adell E. "Dot" Shannon, Sextus A. Shannon (Dorothy Jean) of Plantersville, MS., Shelton T. Shannon (Karen) of Plantersville, MS. and Winston E. Shannon (Barbara) of Plantersville, MS.; her children-in-law, James Armstrong and Daphne Shannon Lane; her nieces, Janice Walker, Linda Walker, Beverly Howard and Sandra Howard; her stepmother Hattie Howard; and her son Michael Jackson. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren.
