He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Pettey Hood; and his parents, Chief B. S. and Juel Boyd Hood. He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Ann Hood and Amy English (Randy); his grandchildren, Preston Jones, Ethyn English (Lauren), Haley Wilson (Austin), Anna Scott Boyette and Alex Boyette; his great grandchildren, Carter Jones, Riley Jones, Walker Jones, Decker English, Grant Wilson and Collins Wilson; and his siblings, Dr. Bill Hood (Billie Lane) and Candy Hood Gordon.

Go back a long way with this family, including Philadelphia, where I grew up with his late wife, Carol; the PHS High School band (where his brother, Bill, was my band director); Starkville High School (where Billie Lane, was my son's school counselor); and First Baptist Church, Starkville (where I am/was privileged to be members with his entire family).
