He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Knickerbocker and Donelda Lindley Knickerbocker; his siblings, Jack Knickerbocker and Gloria Stevens; and his uncles, Pug and Bill.

He is survived by: his wife Rhea Knickerbocker; his children, Donald Garnsay, Joe Garnsay, David Garnsay and Betty Garnsay Jones; and his nieces, Amanda, Kari and Dee Dee. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
