It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerry Ruel Short (Pontotoc, Mississippi), who passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Short and Ruby Short; his brothers, Paul, Junior and Casey; his parents-in-law, John D. and Onis Bramlitt; and his great grandchild Wyatt.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Short; his children, Lori Williams (Jeff) of Thaxton and John Mark Short (Crystal) of Buchanan; his grandchildren, Haley Wood (Josh), Jay Knight (Katie), Isabelle Ruth (Dawson), Chip Short, John Herring, Spencer Herring, Pearl Short, Beth Walker (Brandon), Marley Ford (Johnathon) and Micheal Williams; and his great grandchildren, Mavie, Auden, Ayven and Alex. He is also survived by many other family members he loved as his own including two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Buchanan Baptist Church (4815 Friendship Rd, Pontotoc, MS 38863). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
