He was predeceased by: his parents, Duane Ruth and Maxine Welch Ruth; his sons, Brad and Chad Ruth; his wife Sandy Ruth; and his brother Johnny Myron Ruth.
He is survived by: his siblings, Benny Ruth (Melinda) and Lamona Ruth Bramlitt. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
