With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Penny Carter of Pontotoc, Mississippi, born in New Albany, Mississippi, who passed away on May 24, 2026 at the age of 62. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Penny Carter to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her father Calvin Coolidge Ivey; her siblings, Peggy Taylor, Dennis York and Keith Ivey; and her brother-in-law Glen Ervin.

She is survived by: her mother Carolyn Davis Ivey; her husband Bobby Carter; her sons, Adam Carter, Eric Carter and Johnathan Carter (Rose); her grandsons, Noe Carter, Jacob Carter and Bruce Carter; her sisters, Anita Culver (Wade) and Vickie Ervin; and her siblings-in-law, Onice Carter, Debbie York and Robert Taylor. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
