He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Edgar Tynes and Zella Holden Tynes; his siblings, Preston Tynes, Norma Tynes Sones, Clifton Tynes, Gloria Tynes Thompson, Vincent Tynes and Fern Tynes Wesley; his son Mitchell Lavern Tynes; his grandson Phillip Chad Lindsey; his nieces, Rose Mary Tynes Mooney and Linda Thompson Slade; and his nephew Robert Carl Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Graham Tynes; his children, Melissa Lindsey (Phil) of Poplarville, Michael Tynes (Tammy) of Albany, LA and Al Tynes (Tonya) of Poplarville; his grandchildren, Daniel, Kyle, Landon, Dylan, Kelton, Lauren, Luke and Chris; and his great grandchildren, Chad, Josh, Callie, Liam, Laiken, Lily, Kastyn, Waylon, Stettson, Jett, Preston and Elliot.
