He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirlene and Durward; and his brother Jimmy. He is survived by: his wife Jo Lynn Gill Davis; his children, Lindsay Shorba (Loren) and Seth Davis (Megan); his grandchildren, Drake Shorba, Lucas Shorba and Blair Davis; and his close friends, Keith Bickham and DeWayne Terrell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Vision 20/20 building fund of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
