He was predeceased by: his parents, Haskell Herndon and Eldora Herndon; his siblings, James W. Cavendish, Glyndal "Pee Wee" Herndon and Brenda "Missie" Landry; his sister-in-law Melanie Kirkland Herndon; and his nieces and nephews, Matthew Herndon and Baby Herndon.

He is survived by: his wife Lisa Herndon; his daughters, Melinda Stuart (Tony) and Amber Sandercock (Nathan); his granddaughter Imogen Sandercock; and his brother Jessie Herndon.
