She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hamilton and Lucille Nelson Mikell; her husband Hulon Broom; and her siblings, Kathryn Turner, Tressie Shivers, Jack Mikell and Mary Armstrong.
She is survived by: her sons, Doug Broom (Cheryl) of Ridgeland and Danny Broom (Rebecca) of Madison; and her grandchildren, Candace Blaha and Camille Gilbert. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
