He is survived by : his children, Lisa Welk of Indianapolis, IN, Janis Harris of Preston, MS and James E. Palmer, Jr.; his sister Carolyn Palmer of Preston, MS; his grandchildren, Johanna, Jennifer, Elijah, Jason, Tasha, Derrick and Caroline; and his close friends, Sarah and Charlie Petrie of Florida. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; several cousins.
