He is survived by: his wife Debbie Garec of Purvis, MS; his children, Waylon Garec of Purvis, MS, Marcus Garec of Tylertown, MS and Magan Kilpatrick; and his sister Angie Brewer. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Okahola Baptist Church (3889 Old Hwy 11, Purvis, MS 39475). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
