With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Danny Gerald Purvis (Raleigh, Mississippi), born in Jackson, Mississippi, who passed away on March 5, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, John Rufus Purvis and Mary Nell Abernathy Purvis; his grandparents, Robert Purvis, Lilly Purvis, Wesley Abernathy and Lena Abernathy; and his foster brother Ed Cumberland.
He is survived by : his daughters, Pamela McNeil of Pineville, MS, Dawn Smith of Raleigh, MS and Amanda Purvis Pigott (Nate) of Florence, MS; his sisters, Kathy Bevill and Anita Wilson (Chris) of Raleigh, MS; his sister-in-law Clara Cumberland; and his grandchildren, Austin Westberry (Mackenzie), Colton McNeil (Grayson), Kelsey Jenkins (Jeremy), Gabriella Calderon, Lilian Smith, Martin Smith and Caraline McNeil. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
He was a head participant of Purvis Farms haunted hayride to which all profits were donated to Blair E. Batson and St. Jude Children's Hospitals.
