It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jeanette Hancock of Richton, Mississippi, who passed away on June 14, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Jeanette may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Ingram; her sons, Dannie Lewis, Tommie Lewis and Leon Lewis; and her parents, Elijah Hancock and Maggie Hancock.
She is survived by: her sons, Donnie Lewis (Suzette) of Richton and Eli Lewis (Jean) of Richton; her daughter-in-law Jeanette Lewis of Sand Hill; and her daughters, Ann Lewis of Richton and Louise Lewis of Butler, AL. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Buck Creek Baptist Church (907 Buck Creek Rd, Richton, MS 39476). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
