He was predeceased by : his son Mack Hobson, Jr.; his grandson Joseph Taylor; and his parents, Melvin Hobson and Elizabeth Hobson. He is survived by : his wife Mavis Hobson of Richton; and his children, Melvin Hobson (Belinda) of Richton and Becky Wright (Charles) of Oak Grove. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
