He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Doris and Melvin Brewer; his stepfather Ira Peterson; his stepbrother James Peterson; and his cousin Jeffrey Brewer.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Crays of Richton; his children, Jocelyn "Rosey" Hinton (Willie) of New Augusta, Richard "R. J." Dement (Jill) of Richton and Andrew Dement (Shana) of Richton; his grandchildren, Harley, Emma, Abigail, Willie, Hinton, Kristen, Savannah, Elizabeth Dement, Andrea and Jeffrey; his great grandchildren, Jesse, Karsin, Tanner Dillon and Curtis Meeler; his parents, Daryll Crays of Jackson and Theola Peterson of Hattiesburg; his sisters, Melinda Crays of Hattiesburg and Ashley Jones of Brandon; and his stepsister Marion Peterson of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
