He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann May; his sister Mary May McKellar; his daughters, Mary Margaret Culpepper and Madeline Brewer; his sons-in-law, Andrew Brewer and John Culpepper; and his grandchildren, Adam and Anna Brewer.
