She was predeceased by: her parents, Wyche Terrell Stubblefield and Bessie Hilderbrand Stubblefield of Virginia; her sons, Faron John Powell and Gene Harlan Powell, Jr.; and her sister Marion Ann Ledbetter.
She is survived by: her husband Gene Harlan Powell of Yazoo County, Mississippi.; her children, Donna (Roland Diaz), Caren (Bob Brister), Sandra (John Cartwright), Wesley (Krista Powell) and Mary Bess (Alex Gloria); her grandchildren, Robert Brister, Morgan Hegi, RJ Diaz, Jon Diaz, Wes Powell, Zachary Gene Powell, Kate Powell, Eli Powell, Audrey Cartwright, John Cartwright, Lucy Gloria and Taj Gloria; and her siblings, Mary Sue Shipp and Marlin John "Sonny" Stubblefield.
