She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Mae Dearman and Eli Calvin Rutherford; her husband William Lawrence Gilbert (Bill); and her sister Josephine. She is survived by: her children, Linda Grace Hagler (Luke) of Madison, MS and John Owen Gilbert (Deborah) of Ridgeland, MS; her grandchildren, Daniel Gilbert (Camille) of Madison, George Hagler of Huntsville, AL and Lauren Gilbert Rodgers (Cody) of Canton; and her great grandchildren, Caleb, Heidi, Elle and Lucy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Prior to the pandemic and health-related issues, Clara actively attended Highland Colony Baptist Church.
