He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Whitten and Helen Whitten; his grandson Carson Alan Partridge; and his nephew Captain Daniel Preston Whitten. He is survived by: his wife Gaye Elaine Whitten; his daughters, Kimberly Whitten Partridge and Ashley Whitten Byrd (Ben); his grandchildren, Taylor Marie Byrd, Casey Laine Partridge, William Tate Byrd, Christopher Kage Partridge and Benjamin Tallon Byrd; his siblings, Dan Whitten and Susan Ambrosini (Mike); and his brother-in-law Daniel Woolbright (Karla).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Whit's memory to the American Heart Association.
