We are sad to announce that on May 5, 2024, at the age of 90, Vera Jean Ruiz of Rienzi, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Earskin Evetts and Irene Burcham Evetts; and her sisters, Helen Louise Evetts and Infant Evetts. She is survived by : her children, Charles Whittemore (Theresa), David Paul Wheeler, Janice Cummings, Martha Belongia (Lloyd), Charlotte Jones (Steve) and Brenda Byrd; her pets, Poncho, Molly and Susie; and her brother Cecil Evetts. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 7th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Magnolia Funeral Home - East (2024 US-72, Corinth, MS 38834). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
