He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy Mathis; and his son Samuel Jason Mathis. He is survived by: his mother Helen McMillen Matthis of New Albany, MS; his wife Pam W. Mathis of Tippah County; his children, Ben Mathis of New Albany, MS and Shannon Harmon of New Albany, MS; his brothers, Jimmy Mathis (Page) of Big Sandy, TN and Keith Mathis (Julia) of New Albany, MS; and his grandchildren, Skyler Harmon, Anna Harmon and Sophie Gresham.
