He was predeceased by : his mother Patsy Ann Cox-Brooks; his wife Brenda Brooks; his son Dectrick "Red" McDonald; and his siblings, Opal Lubin and Randy Brooks (Roy Bell).

He is survived by : his father Bileto Brookes; his mother-in-law Annette McDonald of Ripley, MS; his son Rafael "Roc" McDonald; his grandchildren, Raven "Tootie" Batie, Taziyah "Taz", Nykedrick "Nyke" Agnew, Chosen, Peyton McDonald and Royalty McDonald; his great grandchildren, Sierra, Tierra Batie and Kadence "Kade" Agnew; his siblings, Joseph Brooks, Tracy Brooks (Cotina), Stacy Brooks (Lanedra), Chris Brooks (Gloria), Charlene Brooks, Shelia Brooks, Jennifer Brooks and Norlene Green; his siblings-in-law, Elaine Riddle (Warren), Jona Woods, Rita McDonald, Demetria "Kally" McDonald, Mary "Baba" Finger (Calvin), Kirk McDonald (Marlea) and Derric McDonald; his aunt Brenda Johnson; and his uncle Gus Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
