He was predeceased by: his parent Arnold (Zelma Smith); his grandson Justin Smith; his stepsons, Dennis and Carl Kilcrease; and his pets, Missy and Prissy.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Smith; his children, Tammy Jones (Randal) of Walnut, Donna Berryman of Walnut, Jim Smith (Sandra) of Ecru, Ed Smith (Wanda) of Ripley, Tay Smith (Dena) of Ripley and Buddy Kilcrease of New Site; and his sister Sue Huddleston of Ripley. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
