With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sara Merwin Lyon of Ripley, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 13, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Chauncey Merwin and Alice Merwin. She is survived by: her children, Edward Bradley Lyon (Brad) of Houston, TX and Sara Catherine Lyon Ward (Cathy); her husband Edward Lyon; her daughter Cathy Ward (Mitch) of Ripley, MS; her grandchildren, Britni Campbell (Rick) of Houston, TX, Steve Lyon (Janee) of Houston, TX, Scott Lyon (Kerstin) of Houston, TX, Caley Bloodworth (Tom) of Auburn, AL and Alana Welch (William) of Clarksburg, TN.; her stepgrandchildren, Shane O'Neal, Sheridan Vale and Natalie O'Neal; her pet Friends; her close friend Carolyn Deeley of Lakeland, TN.; and her caregivers, Linda Rutherford, Felisa Barkley, Kim Boyd, Jasmine Gray, Trista Johnson, Shirley Mayes, Lou Ann Price, Ebony Robinson, Linnie Selmer and Claudette Williams. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
