With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Wilmer Shackelford of Ripley, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 6, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Shackelford, Sr. and Annie Liza Robinson Shackelford; his brother James; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Shackelford and Clay Garrett.
He is survived by: his wife Carla Shackelford; his son Phil Shackelford (Paula) of El Dorado, AR; his grandsons, Philip Shackelford of Tupelo and Joseph Shackelford of Franklin, TN.; his siblings, J. P. Shackelford of Ripley, Lynwood Shackelford (Betty) of Ripley and Betty Dickerson (Bobby) of Memphis, TN; and his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Shackelford of Hernando and Evonne Garrett of Ripley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McBride Funeral Home, Inc. (206 N Commerce St, Ripley, MS 38663). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be shared with Gideons International or The Samaritan Center in Ripley.
