He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Smith Sr. and Lillie Bell Lewis Smith; his siblings, John William Smith Jr., David Allen "Hippie" Smith, Larry Pannell and Brenda Joyce Hambrick; his grandson Aiden Smith; his siblings-in-law, Shelia Smith, Judy Kay Wilbanks and Stephen Hambrick; and his nephew Daric Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Micki Smith (Bobby Cagle) of Blue Mountain and Summer Smith; his brother Gerald Pannell; his grandchildren, Ryan Riles, Kerrieann, Shelby and Bella Cagle; and his nieces and nephews, Lindsey Moore, Timothy, Stephen, Adalynn Hambrick and Steele Cowboys Charity Riders.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home (1011 City Ave N, Ripley, MS 38663). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at the Ripley City Cemetery (500 S Main St, Ripley, MS 38663).
