He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vertis Turner and Annie Hoyt Windham Turner; his siblings, Joe "J. A." Turner, James "Shorty" Turner, Mary Turner, Baby Turner and Annie "Joan" Holmes; his son David Turner; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Turner and Jonathan Turner.

He is survived by: his daughters, Pam Robbins and Carole Turner; his sister Jeanette Beaty (Rickey); his grandchildren, Ashley Howell (Cody), Nathan Foster (Stormie), Treyvon Foster (Tiffini), Autumn Turner, Wesley Turner, Alyssa Garmon, Austin Turner and Braden Turner; and his great grandchildren, Dawson Turner, Emma Boykin, Odin Foster, Gunner Foster, Bo Westmoreland, Everleigh Howell and Paxton Howell.
