Sam touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Avery and Gertrude Hurst Norris. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Moore Norris of Saltillo; his children, Samantha T. Cahng of Greenville, SC and Samuel T. Norris, Jr. (Christine) of Saint Simons Island, GA; his stepsons, John David Rogers (Mary Shae) of Tupelo and Patrick Rogers of Tupelo; his siblings, Barbara Bryan (Tommy) of West Point, Melba Hollingsworth of Columbus and Thomas Norris, Jr. of Washington; and his grandchildren, Samuel T. Norris, III, Elizabeth Norris of Saint Simons Island, GA, Alex Rogers of Austin and Catherine Rogers of Tupelo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
