It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evon B. Hammonds of Sandy Hook, Mississippi, who passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Claude Earl Hammonds; her parents, Berlie Bedwell and Lucy McKenzie Bedwell; and her siblings, Billy Hugh Bedwell and Dorothy Helen Bedwell.
She is survived by: her sons, Danny Hammonds (Brenda) of Sandy Hook, Randy Hammonds (Wendy) of Foxworth and Chad Hammonds (Therissa) of Sandy Hook; her siblings, Casey Bedwell (Ruby) of Sandy Hook and Rose Bedwell (Charles) of Foxworth; her granddaughters, April Stringer (Eli) of Foxworth and Anna Marie Hammonds of Foxworth; and her great grandchildren, Gracie Stringer of Foxworth, Jaxsen Stringer of Foxworth and JuLeigh Stringer of Foxworth. She is also survived by Nieces & Nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church (573 Mt Carmel Church Rd, Foxworth, MS 39483). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (247 Hurricane Creek Church Rd, Sandy Hook, MS 39478).
