He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Slaughter and Ruth Slaughter. He is survived by: his wife Sue Russell Slaughter of Sardis; his children, Debbie McCown of Germantown, TN. and Charles Wesley Slaughter, Jr.; and his siblings, Jimmy Slaughter and Mary Jane Pettibone. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and blessed with three great-great grandchildren.
