It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rogers Joseph Ponthieux Sr. of Saucier, Mississippi, born in Pineville, Louisiana, who passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Murphy Ponthieux and Lillian Ponthieux (Roy); his sons, John Wayne and Leon Roy Ponthieux; his granddaughter Sara Lynn Ponthieux; his parents-in-law, Frank Cyril Penton and Zoeia Arceneaux Penton; and his siblings, Robert M, Huey, Donald Ponthieux and Elaine Ponthieux.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Penton Ponthieux; his children, Lillian, Donna, Patricia, Esther, Racheal, Rogers Jr., Frank (Sylvia) and Jesse (Lisa); and his siblings, Edgar Ponthieux (Trudy), Paul Ponthieux (Shirley), Douglas Ponthieux, Gerald Ponthieux (Dora), Sandra Ann Fletcher (Perry) and Cora Mae Sharp (Larry). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
