He was predeceased by: his parents, Truman Yates and Marie Yates; his grandson Ryder Blayze Speed; his brothers, Nelson Yates and Danny Joe Yates; his nephew Erik King; and his niece Lily Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Liz Yates; his children, Timothy Yates of Horseshoe, Brian Yates of Horseshoe and Jessica Speed (Ricky); his grandchildren, TJ Yates (Aubree), Tyler Monk (Payton), Dillan Yates, Kayden Monk, Krusher Speed, Mason Speed, Cooper Speed, Gabby Pirtle (Josh) and Taylor Gregory (Nick); his sister Debra Yates-Hughes; and his grandson Ryder Blayze. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Milling Funeral Home of Sebastopol (1484 MS-487, Walnut Grove, MS 39189). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in memory of Greg's grandson, Ryder Blayze Speed.
