We announce the death of Lynda Gainey of Sebastopol, Mississippi, who passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 76. Lynda will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie S. Wolverton and Matilda Jane Purvis Wolverton; her former husband Wayne Moorehead; and her brothers, Junior Wolverton, Charles Wolverton and Melvin Wolverton.
She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Gainey; her son Andrew Wayne Moorehead (Kristen) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; her granddaughters, Olivia, Julia and Magnolia Moorehead; and her siblings, Audell Dodson, Gerald Wolverton (Lorese) and Larry Wolverton (Ange). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
