We announce the death of Mary Magueritte Gandy of Seminary, Mississippi, who passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 96. Mary Magueritte will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walker Lott and Ophelia Lott; her husband John J. Gandy; and her siblings, Walker Jr., Billy, Fred, Russell Lott, Edith Murray and Carmen Hall.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jacqueline King (Charles King) of Seminary, Juanice Glaze (Lamar Glaze) of Hattiesburg and Vaneesa Abercrombie (Archie) of Seminary; her grandchildren, Brad Abercrombie of Seminary, Russell Abercrombie of Knoxville, TN, Kelly Sawyer of Hattiesburg, Lauren, Matthew and Johnathan Glaze of Hattiesburg; her great grandchildren, Reagan, Riley Abercrombie of Ellisville, McKenna, Abram, Aurora Abercrombie of Knoxville, TN and Miles Abercrombie of Triadelphia, WV.; and her brother Tommy Lott of Conroe, Texas..
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Mississippi Baptist Children's Village where John was adopted from as a young child or to the Southeast MS Association for Citizens with Disabilities (ARC) Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
