He was predeceased by: his parents, Father John Taylor and Thelma Mae Coleman Taylor; his wife Gladys Ann Todd Taylor; his granddaughter Melissa Taylor; and his siblings, Catherine Longest, Donna Peabody, Sybil Rich, Evelyn Hill, John W. Taylor and Robert Taylor.

He is survived by: his sons, James G. "Jim" (Tina), Edward T. "Ed" (Ann) of Senatobia and John "Greg" of Jackson, Mississippi.; his grandchildren, Crystal Taylor, Brandy Taylor, Blake Taylor (Natalie) and Paxton Taylor (Kelby); his sister Shirley Pratt; his siblings-in-law, Bobbie Taylor, William "Bill" Longest and Jack Hill of Flowood, MS; and his adoptive son Ron Mitchell.
