He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Manning and Margie Manning; and his former wife Barbra Welch Manning. He is survived by: his wife Carol Richmond Simpson; his son Adam L. Simpson (Carrie); his granddaughters, Penny and Phoebe; and his brother Carl Manning Jr. (Dana).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Barbra Manning scholarship at Northwest Community College or the Senatobia Animal Shelter.
