She was predeceased by: her parents, R. L Carter, Jr. and Mary Ruth Gates Carter; her husband Ray Monteith; and her brother Robert L. Carter, III. She is survived by: her brother Benjamin Carter (Melody) of Senatobia; her nieces, Courtney Carter Boatright (Ben) of Amory, MS and Casey Carter Wells (Joseph) of Caledonia, MS.; her great-nephews, Abram, Pierce Boatright and Grady Wells; and her great-niece Ruth Wells.
