He was predeceased by: his parents, John Marshall Rutherford and Freddie Rutherford (Sprouse); his daughter Patricia Lynn Vecchio; his wife Susan Patricia Barnett Rutherford; and his brother James Robert Rutherford.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Ruth Outhouse of Canandaigua, NY; his siblings, Ann Rutherford Shelton (Joel) of Gore Springs, MS and George Rutherford (Carolyn) of Water Valley, MS; his sisters-in-law, Bonna Jean Reed (Greg) of Ohio, Lynn Marie Hefferon of Waterloo, NY and Joy Michelle Coddington (Chet) of Elmira, NY; his niece Becky Brown of Ohio; and his granddaughter Kristin of Utah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
